OUR STORY
.The Chairs Circle for Gender Equality was founded in 2022-2023 by past Chairpersons of Prince Edward Island equity-seeking organizations. It is an incorporated not-for-profit committed to using education to advance equality and inclusion of people and groups excluded as a result of systemic inequality, in the province of Prince Edward Island.
Chairs Circle members recognized the need for a new organization focused on enhancing the sustainability of local work on gender equality and inclusion, with an intersectional, feminist lens and approach.
The Chairs Circle intends to support projects and events that complement and support the work of existing organizations working for equality and inclusion in Prince Edward Island, to advance substantive gender equality for women-identifying, non-binary, and gender minority people.
The Chairs Circle for Gender Equality is excited to contribute to the landscape of Prince Edward Island not-for-profits by contributing to vitality and capacity.

ANNE NICHOLSON
President
Among other accomplishments, Anne is a past-Chairperson of both the PEI Advisory Council on the Status of Women and the PEI Human Rights Commission.
MARI BASILETTI
Treasurer
Mari is a past-Chairperson of the PEI Advisory Council on the Status of Women and a long-time community volunteer for equality and human rights. She is also an artist with a feminist vision.
JANE LEDWELL
Secretary
Jane is the past Executive Director of the PEI Advisory Council on the Status of Women and past Director of the Institute of Island Studies. She is currently Executive Director of CreativePEI.
SARAH OUTRAM
Member
Sarah is the current Executive Director of the PEI Coalition for Women's Leadership (formerly the PEI Coalition for Women in Government) and has long been a leader with Fusion Charlottetown.
JILLIAN KILFOIL
Member
Jillian is the incoming Executive Director of the PEI Rape and Sexual Assault Centre and the outgoing Executive Director of Women's Network PEI.
